With only a standard 45 litre fuel tank, the ’49er is a bit thin on engine juice. At roughly 6km/l, we’re good for 270km. The leg from Letaba in SA to Vilanculo in Mozambique is roughly double that. So 60l spare fuel should do the trick. Just fitted 2 x 20l jerry can holders on the front bumper, that should help. The other 20l we’ll carry in the back. 600km range should be good enough…I think.
Seatbelts? On a Series 1?…NO!! But essential to keep ‘the filth’ happy.
